MCCP Newsletter Spring 2012
This term the theme for the Nursery will be 'Transport' and as part of the theme the children will have activities planned for the seven areas of learning to encourage the children to explore and investigate different aspects of 'Transport'.
Alongside the themed activities, the children will be continuing to use the garden for out-door play and the Green Room children will be attending the Gardening Club at the Plas, visit the library, cooking etc.
Activities in both the Nursery and Out of School Club are run bilingually; we have six members of staff who are Welsh speaking and also some staff attending Welsh Lessons in order to continue to provide a bilingual service.
The Cylch run in the morning in the Green Room, were children are encouraged to use simple Welsh vocabulary to talk about their feelings, the days of the week, the weather etc.
A positive attitude towards bilingualism is promoted througout MCCP, with a lot of the children progressing to the Welsh stream in school.
Chestnut Tree
On the 17th Janaury a contractor came to cut the Chestnut tree down in the Nursery garden. The children attending on the day were very excited to see a man climbing up the tree, cutting it down piece by piece!
The wood will be sold off to anyone interested, so keep your eyes open for posters at the Nursery and Ty Melfed informing you of price and availability!
