MCCP Newsletter April 2012

This term the theme for the Nursery will be 'Growth. Activities will be planned for the 7 areas of learning to encourage the children to explore and investigate different aspects of growing.

Following this theme, our next theme will be centered around a very simple introduction to the Olympics, as we welcome the Olympic torch to Machynlleth on the 28th May.

Alongside the themed activities, the children will be continuing to use the garden for out-door play and the Green Room children will be attending the Gardening Club at the Plas, visit the library, cooking etc.

Activities in both the Nursery and Out of School Club are run bilingually; we have six members of staff who are Welsh speaking at the Nursery and two at Club, also some staff attend Welsh Lessons in order to continue to provide a bilingual service.

The Cylch run in the morning in the Green Room at the Nursery, were children are encouraged to use simple Welsh vocabulary to talk about their feelings, the days of the week, the weather etc.

A positive attitude towards bilingualism is promoted througout MCCP Ltd, with a lot of the children progressing to the Welsh stream in school.

Could you be a Trustee?

MCCP Ltd are in need of new Trustees.  Being a Trustee is very rewarding and does not take up too much time.  We meet every month, have insurance to cover personal liability and lots of what we do just requires common sense, although we would welcome anyone with specialist knowledge in childcare, running a business or the charity sector.  Anyone interested please contact either Llinos 702933 or Katarina 702607.

Please remember that only NAMED people will be permitted to pick your child up from MCCP, so keep us informed of any changes to your personal details as well as to whom you want to pick your child up!
